Renewable Energy Development
Energy crisis is an emerging issue, and the world is struggling to find a suitable environment-friendly energy option for its denizens. The global energy demand is expanding rapidly. The soaring demand for energy is presently greeted with the help of fossil fuel. Industry experts believe that the demand in the energy market will grow exponentially in the forthcoming years.
There is an urgent need of an alternate source of environment-friendly energy to fill up this gap in the market. An environment-friendly energy source is a must, as greenhouse emissions are acutely disturbing the environmental balance. The growth of biogas as an alternate and green energy source is the only hope for the modern world.
The global biogas market is likely to soar within the assessment period. The market will witness a CAGR of 6.5% in terms of value in the years to come. The global biogas market showcased a promising growth in 2015 as the sales spurred and the total value of the market swelled above US$ 24000 Mn. The regions such as Latin America and Asia Pacific will play an important role in the growth of the global biogas market within the period of assessment.
Koperasi Amanah Pelaburan Berhad KAPB has invested and penetrate the global biogas market via a joint-venture with a German company that provided the technology. Based on the analysis released by the European Biogas Association in 2015, Germany has the most biogas plant in the world.

Automotive Trading
Malaysia is the World’s 2nd biggest importer of reconditioned Japanese cars as reported by Japan’s Ministry of Finance in 2015. Malaysia imported nearly 55 billion Yen (about RM1.93 billion) worth of reconditioned cars from Japan.
The automotive market is very volatile. While the top end buyers, of which there are relatively few, are quite consistent, the mid-range and the lower end of the market is quite price sensitive.
Whilst the super-rich are relatively less price sensitive despite price hikes for luxury vehicles, the mass market is sensitive to FX fluctuations from weaker ringgit that translate into higher car prices. Fortunately, financial institutions play a large part in financing auto ownership based on credit history and monthly disposable income.
The premium cars will likely see a shift down to smaller and lower priced models, business people still will want the prestige of ownership, but may opt for premium reconditioned cars. Due to the uncertainties related to the exchange rates, business owners will tend to be more prudent in car purchases.
Hence, Business Koperasi Amanah Pelaburan Berhad KAPB focused its investment on the trading of imported used luxury and premium cars where most of the buyers are genuine, which resulted in faster turnover of stocks and higher returns on investment.
