Koperasi Lembaga Kemajuan Wilayah Pulau Pinang consists of 12 members of the Board of Directors who play a role in formulating and managing the affairs of the cooperative entrusted and jointly improve the economy of its members in accordance with the principles of cooperatives.

KoPERDA members are now 219 people. The main function of the cooperative is to provide loan schemes and credit facilities to members in addition to carrying out food supply services, services, tourism and supply of building materials as well as welfare and educational activities for the benefit of members.

Housing Projects

Lembaga Kemajuan Wilayah Pulau Pinang has implemented two housing projects, namely Taman Sungai Bakap Perdana Phase 1 located in Seberang Perai Selatan and Projek Perumahan Sejahtera Rakyat (PPSR) Kuala Sungai Pinang located in the Southwest District. The Taman Sungai Bakap Perdana Housing Project Phase 1 from the Penang Regional Development Authority consists of a 2 Storey Terrace House with four (4) bedrooms and three (3) bathrooms. It is ranked 5.213447 (Latitude) and 100.501477 (Longitude) and has Permanent Title status.

The Kuala Sungai Pinang People’s Prosperous Housing Project (PPSR) is located in the Southwest District

SMI

Guidance Factories and Small and Medium Industry (SMI) Factories

Guidance Factories and Small and Medium Industry Factories (SMIs) were developed by the Penang Regional Development Authority Cooperatives with the aim of creating agro -based industrial activities in a complete and comfortable area and providing space for expansion. Is an integrated entrepreneur development program in terms of:

  • Provision of building infrastructure and complete facilities.
  • Human capital development.
  • Product development; and
  • Branding development and promotion.
  • Basic Conditions for SMI Factory Rental Application

The company produces food / beverage products:

  • Has been in business for at least two (2) years.
  • Bumiputera companies and registered with the Companies Commission of Malaysia (SSM).
  • Priority is given to companies operating in the State of Penang.
  • Have strong financial capability; and
  • Have a good business plan.

The purpose of providing the premises is to provide opportunities for Bumiputera entrepreneurs to increase income and develop the local area. The provision of premises is in line with the function which is to develop, encourage, assist and undertake the development of housing, agriculture, industry and trade in areas. The premises are rented to the target group with a minimum rental rate.

Food Park

PERDA Food Park (PFP) in Kubang Menerong Tasek Gelugor is an initiative to increase the food processing industry based on agricultural products in the state of Penang. To date, 28 units of SMI factory buildings in PFP have been developed for rent on a site of 150 acres.

PERDA-TECH

PERDA High Skills Institute or Advanced Technical Institute (PERDA-TECH) is a Government Institute of Higher Learning (IPTK) registered under the Ministry of Education Malaysia Registered Code P/IPK/39/A [001] and as an Accredited Center under the Development Department Skills with Registration Code K09007. It has started operating as a Training Center since 1987 with an area of ​​88 acres.

On 16 December 2007, the the Training Center was upgraded to the High Skills Institute with a restructuring of the courses and fields of study offered. As an institute of study registered with the Ministry of Education Malaysia, the cooperative has also been recognized as an Accredited Center, Skills Development Department of the Ministry of Human Resource Development to issue the Malaysian Skills Certificate and Diploma offering courses recognized by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA).

Apart from that, as an added value to the graduates of the programs also received recognition from professional bodies such as CISCO for the field of Information Technology and the Energy Commission for the PW2 Wiring Course for the Electrical Technology Certificate Program.
