Introduction

KOPERASI JAYADIRI MALAYSIA BERHAD (KOJADI) is established on March 12, 1981. The primary objective is to extend an effective educational loan facility to needy students to pursue higher education and secondly to nurture human resource into well-trained manpower for the Malaysian Community and the Nation.

The idea of formation of KOJADI was initiated in the 1970s when many students were unable to further their studies due to limited number of places in the various local universities. On top of this was the quota system practiced by the universities.

Competition for entry into the Malaysian universities was especially keen among students. This left no alternatives to the students but to turn to overseas universities. However, going overseas for studies was an expensive option which the less privileges could ill afford. Without a study loan, capable students from poor family background would never be able to fulfill their aspirations and dreams.

Many of such students have seen their dreams of a university education come true with the financial assistance from us.

KOJADI has a membership of over 60,000 with total assets well over RM266 million. Since the launch of its first scheme, the Higher Education Loan Scheme in 1981, KOJADI has granted over RM247 million in study loans to more than 11,500 students for their studies locally and abroad.

To date, some 10,000 students have graduated from their respective educational pursuits and are gainfully employed in the various fields, thus contributing to nation building.

Definition

KOJADI is the abbreviation of KOPERASI JAYADIRI MALAYSIA BERHAD. It was formed under the Co-operative Societies Act and registered as a co-operative society on 15 May 1981.

As a cooperative society, its membership is open to all Malaysians who have attained the age of 18 years.

As a co-operative society, its operations and activities are based on co-operative principles as well as the co-operative spirit of “Self-help and Mutual-help”.

Function

As a legal entity, Koperasi Jayadiri Malaysia Berhad is regulated by The Co-operative Societies Act 1993 and the Regulations made under the Act.

Koperasi Jayadiri Malaysia Berhad is also governed by its own By-laws which were approved and registered with the Co-operative Development Department.

The management is vested in its Board of Directors which is formed and elected by its members.

Koperasi Jayadiri Malaysia Berhad is authorised to carry out all businesses and activities which are beneficial to its members.

Primary Objective

The primary objective of Koperasi Jayadiri Malaysia Berhad is to provide financial assistance in the form of study loans to its members and their families to pursue further education both locally and abroad.

Since 2012, Koperasi Jayadiri Malaysia Berhad have diversified its loans to business loans such as Micro Credit Loans and TUKAR / ATOM (Under the Economic Transformation Programme and Small and Medium Enterprises loan scheme.
